The region's population now tops 7.5 million, solidifying North Texas' ranking as the nation's fourth-largest metro area. Since 2018 an estimated 700,000 Californians left the Golden State to now call Texas home. According to Betsy Price, the Mayor of Fort Worth, Tarrant County has the third highest number of out of state residences right behind Dallas and Houston. What allure does our great state of Texas have that could attract these costal people away from the oceans and beaches of Cali?
